RetroEngine is days old.
Rebuilding the Soul of CRTs
RetroEngine is my passion project to recreate the look, feel, and physics of real CRT displays (beam scanning, phosphor glow, and analog life) entirely from scratch in DirectX 12. This isn’t a post-process filter; it’s a study of how light itself behaved on glass.
I'm documenting each stage of development as I build the renderer, simulate beam behavior, and reconstruct that nostalgic glow we all remember.

Hey, I’m Alex, a technical artist, retro hardware obsessive, and the kind of person who still gets goosebumps from the warm flicker of a Trinitron. RetroEngine is my way of combining deep rendering research with a love of gaming history, to preserve that analog magic digitally, forever.
